My name is Kimberleigh. I believe that each and every one of us can heal and grow, but sometimes we need a safe space to feel heard and to process our feelings and thoughts.
I am a licensed master social worker with a master's degree in social work from the University of Maryland at Baltimore. I have worked with individuals and families across diverse populations for over 25 years, including with people experiencing mental health crises, homelessness, domestic violence, complex medical issues and disabilities, end- of-life care, and grief/loss. I have extensive experience in helping people who are experiencing major traumatic life transitions that require quick learning of new coping skills.
I use a multicultural, strengths-focused, client-centered approach in my clinical work, and my focus is on your goals. I use CBT, motivational interviewing, mindfulness exercises, therapeutic journaling, and
acceptance and commitment therapy techniques, and my priority is always on your individual needs and progress.
I am committed to providing you with an opportunity to feel heard in a safe space while
you discover your own resilience and potential on your healing journey.
On a personal note, I very much enjoy reading, hiking, and nature. I am also very passionate about traveling, learning about new cultures, and I adore wildlife of all kinds.
“You're braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you
think!” (quote by A.A. Milne, Winnie-the-Pooh)
